Duration of Financial Aid Eligibility

A student who is otherwise eligible may receive financial assistance up to the point that the student has completed 150% of his/her academic program. For example, a student in an associate degree program requiring 60 credit hours may receive financial aid for 90 credit hours or a student in a certificate program of 24 credit hours may receive aid for 36 credit hours. A student who has been awarded an associate or bachelor's degree will automatically be placed on the 150% limit and will need to appeal to receive future aid. All credit hours attempted, including all courses forgiven under the academic renewal policy as well as transfer hours accepted by LLCC and presented on the LLCC transcript toward a student's program, and all LLCC 100 AND 200 level courses with a letter grade of A, B, C, D, F, I, W, WP, WF, PR, RP, P are counted toward the 150% limit. Developmental hours up to a maximum of 30 will not be counted.

Students may be required to consult an academic advisor prior to the 150% limit in order to continue receiving financial aid. Students may appeal their termination of aid eligibility after reaching the 150% limit as they would a financial aid suspension. Students exceeding the 150% limit because they have changed programs may also be required to meet with an academic advisor to formalize an education plan before regaining eligibility.
