Displaced Homemaker Program

The Displaced Homemaker Program is a grant funded program through the Illinois Department of Labor. This program promotes economic self-sufficiency by providing individuals with services that facilitate progress toward achieving their educational and employment goals. Financial assistance is available to help with tuition, books, transportation and child care. Extensive job search assistance and counseling is also available through the program. To be eligible, an individual must have been married and lost a source of income due to separation, divorce, disability or death of a spouse. Individuals may also be eligible if they have been married and lost employment due to disability, layoff or downsizing.
