The Library is housed on the first two floors of Sangamon Hall and fulfills the research needs of the college as well as the surrounding communities. The Library is a full participating member of the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI). Our students and faculty have access to over 60,000 items, several multilingual newspapers, an extensive multi-media collection and a large choice of electronic resources. Through CARLI our students have direct access to 70 other academic libraries in Illinois, and WorldCat offers access to libraries worldwide.

A professional, well-trained and courteous staff is able to assist all library patrons in satisfying their information needs; answering questions on library policies, copyright, and database and research instruction. Individual, group and classroom based Information Literacy instruction is offered and encouraged to better prepare patrons to navigate the information maze.

Students should bring their class schedule and photo ID to the library to obtain an LLCC Photo ID Card in order to check out books, participate in school activities and take advantage of savings at many area businesses and restaurants.

Most of the material in the Library may be checked out at the circulation desk, and fines are assessed for overdue materials. There is a 10 cent per page computer printing charge, but students are invited to download or email material gathered from the libraries' databases.
