ANT 201 Principles and Interpretations in Archaeology 3 credits

This is a general history of archaeological research and a survey of concepts and methods for the study of prehistoric cultures. Stress is placed upon current archaeological problems being investigated in major world areas from the late Pleistocene into the early historic period. Topics include human origins and migrations, and plant and animal domestications. This introductory course is designed for a general understanding and appreciation for prehistory and for advanced course background. R, W1 (3 lecture hours) IAI: SI 903
