ART 220 Introduction to Motion Graphics 3 credits

Motion graphics creation provides a core skill set enabling the application of motion to standard imagery utilized in print design, Web site graphic design and from all film and DV resources. Students learn the terminology, aesthetics and concepts to create segments of motion graphics. They explore industry animation techniques through the use of compositing/animation software. Students learn core principles of importing a variety of file formats, timeline and key frame based animation, simple color correction, keying and masking tools and creating special effects. This course also explores practical applications and steps necessary to create motion graphics segments for a variety of outputs including tape, QuickTime and Web delivery solutions.
