BIO 220 Microbiology 4 credits

This course is an introduction to microorganisms: bacteria, fungi, protozoa, algae and viruses. Emphasis is placed on the role of microbes in health and disease. Topics covered include cell structure, culture techniques, genetics, immunology and genetic engineering. R (3 lecture hours and 2 laboratory hours) IAI: NUR 905

Prerequisite: BIO 101 or its equivalent.
