COS 120 Fundamentals of Medical Science I 3 credits

This course is the first of two courses introducing medical terminology and anatomy/physiology for health care professionals. This course presents medical terminology in its proper context including general information on hospital procedures and laboratory tests, prescribed drugs and their uses and surgical terminology. Topics include gastrointestinal, respiratory, cardiovascular, blood and lymphatic, integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous and urinary systems. (3 lecture hours)
