FRE 101 Elementary French I 4 credits
This course is intended for students who have no previous training in the language or for those whose training has not prepared them to work at a more advanced level. The first emphasis is on building listening and speaking skills with correct pronunciation and intonation. The language lab is used to reinforce classwork and to permit each student to focus on areas of difficulty. After the oral foundation is well established, the course continues with the development of reading and writing skills. R (3 lecture hours and 2 laboratory hours)
