FST 203 Rescue Specialist-Vertical Level I 3 credits

Rescue Specialist-Vertical Level I is designed to provide basic principles, techniques and skills for rope rigging and rescues. Hazards, safety, equipment, knots, anchoring, belaying, lowering systems, patient packaging, mechanical advantage systems and slope evacuation are examples of subjects covered in this course. Students participate in both classroom and field exercises. (2 lecture hours and 2 laboratory hours)

Prerequisite: CFF 101, CFF 102, CFF 103 and FST 212
