HRT 102 Plant Science 3 credits

This course deals with the anatomy, physiology and growth of economically important seed-producing plants such as grasses, annuals, trees and shrubs used in horticulture. Included are interaction of the plant with soil, the basic requirements for plant growth such as heat, light, water, nutrients and support. Their interaction with one another and how they may be modified by cultural practices is studied. (3 lecture hours and 1 laboratory hour)
