JRN 222 Mass Media and Society 3 credits
This course is aimed at students who read newspapers, watch television, or listen to the radio. Included in the study are the changes in the established media, the "new journalism" and the underground press. Also emphasized are the process and theory of communications, concepts of freedom of the press and development of the media to their present forms. R (3 lecture hours)
