MAT 104 General Education Mathematics 3 credits

This course is designed to fulfill the general education requirement in mathematics. The course focuses on mathematical reasoning and the general mathematical skills needed to solve real-life problems. The course includes an in-depth study of the nature of problem solving, the mathematics of finance and two or three topics from the following list: topics in geometry, counting techniques and probability, graph theory, logic/set theory, mathematical modeling, game theory, linear programming or statistics. This course is not a prerequisite for any other college mathematics course. (4 lecture hours) IAI: M1 904
