PHI 204 Introduction to Philosophy 3 credits

This introductory course focuses on several of the recurrent and central themes in the history of philosophy which have challenged our understanding of self and the universe. Special emphasis is placed on the relevance these concerns hold for contemporary life. Through lectures and selected readings, students examine the following problem areas in philosophy: (1) metaphysics, the question of the nature of reality; (2) epistemology, the question of what can be known; and (3) axiology, the question of value.
