PSY 205 Biological Bases of Behavior 3 credits

Human and animal behavior are examined from a biological point of view. Behaviors such as emotions, memory, biological rhythms, depression and reactions to psychoactive drugs are viewed in terms of both their dependence on brain function and their adaptive significance for survival and reproductive success. Special attention is given to the evolution of social behavior. R, W1 (3 lecture hours)
