SOC 112 Leadership Development 3 credits

This course is designed to foster the development of leadership abilities in students by providing a basic understanding of leadership and group dynamics theory by raising awareness of the ethical responsibilities of leadership, and by assisting students in developing personal philosophies of leadership which may help them gain insight into their own leadership styles. The course is a multi-disciplinary approach which applies the principles of good composition using experiential learning to weave together behavioral science principles, classic works of literature and contemporary multi-cultural writings with the goal of promoting a deeper understanding of leadership and improved communication skills.
