Ability to Benefit

Students entering college-credit courses and desiring federal financial aid must demonstrate an ability to benefit from these classes. This can be accomplished by:

Students are encouraged to earn a high school diploma or GED before entering LLCC. Students without a high school diploma or GED will be referred to the Adult Basic Education (ABE) office for assistance in obtaining the GED credential. Students not desiring a GED but desiring financial aid may take an assessment test as approved by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) and LLCC and, having passed the test by USDE standards, be eligible to receive financial aid. Students scoring below the USDE approved scores on the assessment test will be referred to the ABE office.
