MCS 130 Fundamentals of Medical Science II 3 credits

This course is the second of two courses introducing medical terminology and anatomy/physiology for health care professionals. This course is desgined for students to learn medical terminology in its proper context while obtaining general information on hospital procedures and laboratory tests, prescribing drugs and their uses and surgical terminology. Topics include basic word structure, terms pertaining to the body as a whole, suffixes, prefixes, male genitourinary system, female reproductive system, endocrine system, eyes, ears, nose, throat, psychiatry, oncology, radiology and nuclear medicine. (3 lecture hours)
