CTC 135 Cisco IT Essentials II 3 credits

This course is second in a series of courses for students wanting to pursue a career in information technology or as a PC technician or a network administrator. IT Essentials I provides the foundation on which this course builds. This course provides information on Windows, UNIX and the Linux network operating system and covers objectives for the Linux+ and Server+ certifications. In addition, this course extends students' knowledge of operating systems, the benefits of networking and types of networks. Also covered are security issues and how to assess security needs and develop an acceptable-use policy to prevent inside and outside threats. (2 lecture hours and 2 laboratory hours)
