EMS 203 EMT Paramedic-Specialized Care 6 credits

This course is one of three required to complete the EMT-Paramedic certificate. Students master the roles, responsibilities and skill level required for licensing as an EMT-Paramedic. Emphasis is placed on advanced cardiac life support, prehospital trauma life support, advanced pediatric and geriatric care along with special considerations that includes terrorism and hazardous materials management. This course also addresses assessment-based management and ambulance operations. Students are in a fieldwork internship for a total of 50 clinical hours. R (4 lecture hours and 4 laboratory hours)
