This course is a continuation of HIS 211 and covers such topics as Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. Dubois, the rebirth of black nationalism, Marcus Garvey, blacks in the Supreme Court, the black power movement, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, the Black Panther Party, the Nation of Islam, African-American culture and music and contemporary politics and economics.
