LEA 209 Introduction to Forensic Science 3 credits

This course is a study of collection, identification, preservation and transportation of physical evidence found at crime scenes. This includes the use of photography to locate evidence as found, fingerprint examinations and preservation of prints, footprints, toolmark impressions, identification of handwriting and typewriting, firearms identification, importance of hair, fiber, dust and blood evidence. The importance of laboratory examination and discussion of available facilities is also studied. (3 lecture hours)
