MAT 132 Calculus and Analytic Geometry II 5 credits

This continuation of MAT 131 is the second course in a three semester sequence. Topics include (but are not limited to): arc length, surface area and physics applications of the integral; the calculus of trigonometric, logarithmic, exponential and hyperbolic functions; logarithmic differentiation; techniques of integration including integration by parts, by partial fractions, by trigonometric substitution, by tables, by computer algebra systems and by numerical methods; improper integrals; introduction to differential equations; conic sections; rotation of axes; polar coordinates; the calculus of polar functions; infinite sequences and series; convergence tests; power series, with special emphasis on the Taylor Series; and applications of power series.
