PHI 205 Ethics: Morality and Contemporary Values 3 credits

Ethics is the study of morality, meaning various and competing views regarding right and wrong behavior. The first half of the course explores Western theories of morality from a secular (non-religious) perspective. The second half of the course is an application of those various moral theories to such diverse contemporary issues as abortion, euthanasia, death penalty, war, economic justice, stem cell research, sexual behavior, the environment, animal rights and globalization.
