Partnerships for College and Career Success (PCCS)
The LLCC Partnerships for College and Career Success (PCCS) is a program of study, which begins in high school, continues at a post-secondary institution leading to a certificate, associate degree or beyond. These partnerships are a collaborative effort between education and business to achieve these goals. PCCS provides:
- career pathways for high school students in many occupational areas;
- proficiency credit at the community college for PCCS articulated courses;
- innovative and practical ways of delivering school-based learning, work-based learning, and transitional services; and
- advanced technical, academic, and workplace skills required for successful employment in technical occupations and lifelong learning.
PCCS gives students direction and purpose to their studies in high school and yet allows the flexibility to change career paths if necessary. Students who have followed the PCCS sequence of courses during high school may have earned proficiency credit that gives them a 'jump start' on their college education.
High school students throughout the Lincoln Land Communiyt College district can prticipate in the PCCS program. High school guidance counselors, advisors and the LLCC PCCS coordinator, 217.786.2583 or 800.727.4161, ext. 62583, have information on this partnership.
