LEA 204 Contemporary Problems in Law Enforcement 4 credits

This course introduces students to the challenges of law enforcement in the contexts of the broader society. The role of police in a democracy, the historical role of policing and what the future may look like are part of this community view. Specific issues addressed are ethics, use of force, cultural diversity, protection of rights and community support. R, 11 (4 lecture hours)
