MUS 201 Music Theory III 4 credits

This course is an advanced study of the fundamentals of music and musicianship. Students continue to develop their skills in sight singing, ear training, diction, keyboard, analysis, written harmony and original composition. Topics include borrowed chords, ninth, eleventh and thirteenth chords, the neopolitan sixth chord, augmented sixth chords, altered dominant chords and chromatic mediant chords. M1, 11 (4 lecture hours)

Prerequisite: MUS 102 or equivalent
