PHI 210 World Religions 3 credits

This introductory course places heavy emphasis on Eastern religions, particularly Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. In each case, the central beliefs of each system are explored. In addition, given contemporary world events Islam is also examined in detail. Judaism and Christianity are explored in lesser detail. The course is not intended to compare these faiths, but rather to expose students to world views substantially different from that in mainstream U.S. religious thought.
