GER 101 Elementary German I 4 credits

This is the first course in a four-course sequence to develop an understanding and use of the German language in speaking, reading, writing and comprehending. This course is intended for students who have little or no previous instruction in German. Students are introduced to the structure, pronunciation and syntax of the language with emphasis on oral communication. Additionally, students are introduced to the culture, history and contributions of Germans and the German language in our world. Lab work for comprehension and pronunciation is a part of the course work. R, 11 (3 lecture hours and 2 laboratory hours)
