CSC 115 Understanding Technology Today 3 credits

This subject covers technology concepts and trends underlying current and future developments in information technology, and fundamental principles for the effective use of computer-based information systems. This course explores the variation and future development of application, system software, hardware, network and security. Special emphasis is on social and ethical issues pertaining to the web, e-commerce and distributed computing. Students study system analysis, programming and database using simple hands-on exercises along with learning about career opportunities in the fast-growing field of technology.
