EST 101 Introduction to Emergency Management 3 credits
This course provides an overview of the field of emergency management. Students are introduced to the terminology and definitions used in emergency and disaster management and will examine legal requirements, responsibilities, and laws pertaining to emergency management. Students also develop an understanding of the procedures and requirements in emergency management including identification of hazards and response capabilities and the national incident management system (NIMS). 12 (3 lecture hours)
