JRN 210 Principles of News Editing 3 credits
This is a course that covers the techniques of editing. Included in this course is the study of staff organization, editing theory and techniques, editing wire services copy, picture editing and headline function and writing. The problems of libel receive attention, and emphasis is placed upon taste and ethics. This course also gives attention to production methods, layout design and copy flow.
