RCP 123 Advanced Respiratory Care Practices and Procedures II 3 credits

This course is a comprehensive course covering mechanical ventilation and hyperinflation therapy. Basic pulmonary function tests (to include pulmonary mechanics, respiratory monitoring, airway resistance, lung compliance and work of breathing determinations) are covered. Cardiopulmonary complications, disease states and traumatic pathology seen in the Intensive Care Unit are also covered. Included is a lab module for arterial blood gas puncture and venipuncture training. R, W1 (2 lecture hours and 2 laboratory hours)
