Admission to the Program

  1. Submit the LLCC admission application.
  2. Be a high school graduate or have a GED certificate.
  3. Have a composite score ACT of 21 or higher, or ACT of 19 to 20 with 24 college hours that includes one science course, one communication course and one social science course. Must earn a C or better in the courses. ACT requirement needs to be met prior to filling out an application for admission to the LPN bridge course.
  4. After meeting the ACT requirement complete the Associate Degree Nursing Program Application and return it to the LLCC Admission and Records Office.
  5. Complete CHE 100 or CHE 101 with a grade of C or better within the last five years (or one year of high school chemistry with a C or better and not longer than five years ago).
  6. Complete MAT 092 with a grade of C or better within the last five years (or one year of high school algebra with a grade of C or better and not longer than five years ago), or demonstrate MAT 092 on placement test.
  7. Send all high school, college transcripts AND A COPY OF LPN LICENSE TO: Admissions and Records Office, Lincoln Land Community College, 5250 Shepherd Road, P. O. Box 19256, Springfield, IL 62794-9256.
  8. Successfully complete with a grade of C or better PSY 220, BIO 220, HLT 205 and HLT 206. This is necessary because all nursing students beginning the second year of the Nursing Program must have completed these courses. These courses must have been taken within the last 10 years.
  9. Have a 2.0 GPA or better for all previous college courses.
  10. Give evidence of satisfactory physical and emotional health required of practitioners to carry out the tasks of this occupation.
