MAT 095 Developmental Intermediate Algebra 4 credits

This course in intermediate algebra of the real number system is designed for students who have some background in algebra, either high school algebra or MAT 091, but who still lack the preparation needed to study math courses beyond MAT 095. Topics covered include the algebra of rational expressions, absolute value equations and inequalities, radicals and rational exponents, the complex number system, quadratic functions and their graphs and exponential and logarithmic functions. This course is not designed for transfer credit, nor will credit be given toward an associate degree. (4 lecture hours)

Prerequisite: MAT 091 with a grade of C or better or appropriate placement score and MAT 093 with a grade of C or better or concurrent registration in MAT 093 or one year of high school geometry
