ADN 203 Perspectives in Nursing 1 credit

This course is designed to aid students in the transition from student to practitioner. Legal and ethical aspects of nursing, introduced early in the curriculum, are further explored in relation to clinical situations. Concepts related to the management of patient care are studied. This content is organized into three major units of study: understanding organization, facilitating the management process and developing management and communication skills. Current issues, trends and changes in health care and factors influencing the delivery are identified. Concepts and nursing practices of community health care are discussed. Nursing organizations and self-development strategies for professional growth and self-care as a nurse are identified. R, 12 (1 lecture hour)

Prerequisite: ADN 102 or NUR 283
