Placement in Developmental Programs and Courses

Following placement testing, some students may be placed in developmental programs and courses. These include college-preparatory course work and academic support services. These courses and support services are intended for new and continuing students. Information about developmental programs may be obtained from an academic advisor. See "The Learning Lab" for information about the Study Skills Center, the Writing Center and the Math Center, important academic-support services for students.

Developmental courses in reading, writing and mathematics are provided to build confidence and to prepare students to succeed in college. Using placement test scores, the college may require placement in one or more of the following courses: RDG 098, RDG 099, COM 098, COM 099, MAT 081, MAT 082, MAT 088 (or MAT 091), MAT 092, MAT 094 (or MAT 095) or MAT 096.
