General Education Core Curriculum

Only the courses listed below may be selected to satisfy General Education Requirements, Groups I through IV, for the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees. To enhance transferability of the Associate in Engineering Science and Associate in Fine Arts degrees, courses should be selected from the following list.

Group I	Communication: COM 111, 112; SPE 101, and other courses acceptable as General Education Core Courses by the Illinois Articulation Initiative
Group II	Social Science: ANT 101 and 201; HIS 111 and 112; ECO 110, 131 and 132; GEG 102; POS 101, 201, 202 and 220; PSY 101, 214 and 220; SOC 101, 110, 201 and 211; and other courses acceptable as General Education Core Courses by the Illinois Articulation Initiative
Group III	Humanities A: LIT 110, 111, 112, 113, 147, 201, 202,210, 211, 220, 221 and 222; FRE 202; ITA 202; and SPA 202; and other courses acceptable as General Education Core Courses by the Illinois Articulation Initiative
	Humanities B: ART 101, 204, 205, and 206; FLM 101; FNA 101; HUM 101, 102 and 201; LIT 114; MUS 104 and 108; THE 101; and other courses acceptable as General Education Core Courses by the Illinois Articulation Initiative
	Humanities C: HIS 101 and 102; PHI 201, 204, 205, and 210; and other courses acceptable as General Education Core Courses by the Illinois Articulation Initiative
Group IV	Mathematics: MAT 104, 130, 131, 132, 140, 141, 220, 233, 242, 252 and other courses acceptable as General Education Core Courses by the Illinois Articulation Initiative
	Life Science: BIO 101, BIO 104 and other courses acceptable as General Education Core Courses by the Illinois Articulation Initiative
	Physical Science: AST 101, CHE 100 and 101; GEG 103, 110 and 201; GEO 101; PHY 101 and 201; PSI 101; and other courses acceptable as General Education Core Courses by the Illinois Articulation Initiative
